On June 24, the first Chinese large and luxury aluminum high-speed passenger vessel- "Beiyou 26" successfully completed the sea trial and returned safely. After two days of sailing, the vessel’s all operating parameters have reached or exceeded the original design goals, and has been praised by CCS and the shipowner.
"Beiyou 26" is a large and luxury aluminum catamaran high-speed passenger, tailored for Beihai Xinyi Cruise Ship Co., Ltd. With 70.6m length overall, 17m beam moudled, 34 knots max speed and 1,200 passenger capacity, it has set three records in which it has the largest main dimension, the largest passenger capacity, and the fastest speed compared to vessels with same passenger capacity. Integrated with Austal and Jianglong shipbuilding’s ,which both are Aulong’s parent companies, world-leading technical essence and shipbuilding technology, the VESSEL has the characteristics of good hull structure strength, excellent line shape, fast sailing speed, strong wind and wave resistance, high safety and comfort. In the construction process, it is fully monitored and controlled by Austal quality management team, and its construction quality is in line with world-class standards.
"Beiyou 26" is currently an aluminum high-speed passenger vessel with largest dimensions built in China, and it needs to be comprehensively considered in terms of safety design, aesthetic design, comfort design, human-machine engineering, and seakeeping, et cetera as its design and construction is very complex. There are literally thousands of design drawings and nearly 10,000 drawings in the design and production stage. With a large number of modules and systems used for design so there are a vast amount of information. There is no doubt that it needs high requirements of construction capacity for the shipbuilding enterprises to design and construct such large and high-speed aluminum vessel.
